Mice Pest Control Melbourne
Safer and Greener Pest SolutionsSeen signs of mice? We get rid of them and seal the gaps they are using, so next winter is not a repeat.

Seen Signs Of Mice?
Then you are in the right place. Small droppings like grains of rice in a drawer or along a skirting board, scratching in the walls at night, or a musty smell in a cupboard all mean mice, and there are never just one or two.
We clear them out and then close up the gaps they came in through. A mouse gets through something about the width of a pencil, which is why so much DIY mouse work fails. Ron and Candys have been doing this across Melbourne since 2003.
The Mouse Baits We Use And Where They Go
Stations go inside, along the tracks the mice are already using. Mice travel the edges of rooms with a wall against one side, so we work the skirting lines, the backs of cupboards, pantry corners, subfloor access and the roof space rather than the middle of a room.
We place several types of bait rather than one. Mice take differently from site to site, so offering a variety is what maximises how much gets eaten, and the mix is matched to your property instead of pulled off a standard list.
Whether we need to come back depends on what we have used and how established it is. Where a second generation anticoagulant goes down the rules require it to be reassessed within 35 days, so we return. Where it does not, that visit is not needed, and we will tell you which applies before we start.

Why Mice Are Worse In Winter
Mice move indoors as Melbourne cools off, which is why we get busy from about April and stay that way until spring. A lot of local housing makes it easy for them, particularly weatherboards and older homes with open subfloors.

Don't Just Take Our Word For It: Mice Control Reviews
Mouse Proofing And Mice Removal
Baiting clears whatever is already inside, but proofing is what stops the next lot getting in, and with mice it is fiddly work because the gaps are so much smaller than people expect.
We work the places mice actually use to get in. Gaps around pipework and conduit, weep holes, the join where a weatherboard meets the frame, under doors, around vents and the edges of subfloor access hatches.
We seal what is within our scope on the day. Some houses have far more openings than a pest treatment can reasonably close, and where that is the case we will show you what needs doing and recommend a tradesperson for the larger work rather than leave you expecting a renovation.
We cover Cheltenham, Bentleigh, Bentleigh East, Moorabbin, Highett, Mentone, Mordialloc, Brighton, Sandringham, Hampton, Oakleigh, Clayton, Carnegie, Murrumbeena, Chadstone, Dingley Village, Keysborough, Springvale, Dandenong, Camberwell, Hawthorn, Balwyn, Box Hill, Toorak, South Yarra, St Kilda and the rest of our service areas.

Mice Control FAQs
How do I know if I need mice control or rat control?
The droppings are the quickest way to tell. Mouse droppings are small, about the size of a grain of rice, and you will usually find a lot of them scattered along a skirting board or in a drawer, where rat droppings are much larger and there are fewer of them. Send us a photo and we will tell you which one you have before we come out.
Why can't you put mouse bait outside?
Under the rules that came into effect on 24 March 2026, mouse bait stations can only be placed inside a building. It is there to stop wildlife and pets picking up bait that was never meant for them. If someone offers to bait for mice around your garden, they are not working to the current rules.
Why do you use more than one type of bait?
Because mice take differently depending on the site and the environment. In the same way none of us eat the same meal every day, a mix gives us the best chance of them feeding on it, so we place several types with the aim of maximising bait uptake.
Why do I need several bait stations instead of one?
It comes down to how mice feed. They take a small amount from one point then move straight on to the next interesting thing, so they need several stations spaced close together along the tracks they are already using. One station under the sink is the most common reason DIY mouse baiting does not work.
Do you always come back for a second visit?
It depends on the treatment. Where a second generation anticoagulant is used the rules require the bait to be reassessed within 35 days, so we return. Where we have used something else, that return visit is not needed, and we will tell you which applies to your job.
Is mouse bait safe around pets and children?
The stations are tamper resistant and locked, and they go where mice travel rather than where your family goes. Tell us before we arrive if you have pets and we will place and secure accordingly.
Why do I get mice every winter?
Melbourne cools off and they come inside looking for somewhere warm and dry. A lot of local housing makes that easy, particularly weatherboards and older homes with open subfloors. Baiting deals with the ones already in, and closing the gaps is what stops next winter being a repeat.
Do you seal the gaps as well as bait?
We seal what is within our scope, and with mice it matters more than most people realise because a mouse gets through a gap about the width of a pencil. Where a place has more openings than a pest treatment can reasonably close, we will show you what needs doing and recommend a tradesperson for the bigger work.
